Hey, I’d be delighted if you joined my JV network, really go ahead. Seriously.

Like Adam said to Eve: “Stand back, God only knows how big this thing’s gonna get”.

Our business philosophy: We’re all traveling this journey in a minor arm of the Orion Spur on the outer fringe of the Milky Way Galaxy at combined orbital speeds of probably around 600 kilometers a second. Let’s make it a joyful ride! No victory is worth celebrating if it is at the expense of your fellow man. There’s no glory in taking advantage of people’s ignorance, stupidity or even their greed to make a buck.
Style of business: I grew up in my parents’ retail stores, and there was NEVER a rainy Tuesday afternoon when we’d scheme how to “moneysuck” customers, how to trap them with looping “buy-this” back-end offers, or how much money we “left on the table”. Why is THAT style of business now pushed by the so-called internet marketing gurus … then to be emulated by the young kids? Look, if you want to follow somebody pick Jeff of Amazon, he started on two doors as desks from Home Depot and did $14.8 billion last year.
Why are we here? Life is supposed to be wonderful, dive right in. Go on … skinny dip in the gene pool. And NEVER become a fearful WOPTOY prisoner in your own head (What Other People Think Of You) By 2010, there will be 2 billion internet users in the Global Village — a market size like never before in the history of mankind. No need to “crush” your competitors, mathematically, there are no competitors. The market is THAT big. If it takes you 69 days to count to million, it will take you 223 years to count to billion. 2 billion internet users out there by 2010. Each buying tens maybe hundreds of products. Do the math. (Pssst, can you let me know too when you’re done.)
Our business model is simple: To operate 70 websites in high-margin consumer and B2B sectors.Primary emphasis is on M.O.S.T. products — Make Once Sell Thousands. To that end, we enter into joint venture marketing arrangements with fellow inventors, creators of intellectual property, manufacturers, professionals, artists, designers, importers, exporters, and distributors. We bring in our internet sales and marketing skills and you bring in your know-how.

SEVENMINUTEWORKSHOPS:
We’d love to team up with you to create these mini workshops. What useful-fun-practical thing do you know that could be taught to people out there in an internet movie, flipbook, DVD, internet course, even online lessons …?
As a father of four, I’ve come to realize that kids these days don’t know much about practical stuff. Just the other day one of them asks, “Dad, how do I make moonshine, and how do you get your pot to grow so tall and green?” Nooo, just kidding. But seriously, there are so many skills, lessons, mini-courses we could teach our young ones … around the world. That’s why we are …
… crazily experimenting with a new teaching format: the power-packed, flash-frozen, energy-compressed 7-Minute Workshops that capture the essence of almost any topic in super-dense 7 minutes. Like a hypnotic video game, but actually useful knowledge.
“Time flies like an arrow and fruit flies like a banana” (Groucho Marx).
You see, people don’t have time, too many things to do … and some books are soooo redundant with same stuff told four, five times just to make fluff pages for the publisher … it’s all a huge waste paper and people’s time.
Really, think about it. Much like a cartoon captures only the salient bits of info by removing all redundancy. Same as video codecs’ compression algos — non-changing pixels aren’t factored into the inter-frame information. We’re trying to capture the Gestalt or the ‘canonical’ information of training. It’s crazy enough. It just might work. Like hypnosis.
Email me at john@SBMN.tv and let’s compare notes. Seriously. Let’s do it.

John is a graduate of University of Guelph and University of Toronto specializing in visual perception, memory, and psychophysics. His current turn-ons are quantum physics (“that dang thing don’t make no sense at all”), cosmology, subtle energies; and, of course, psychology of sales and marketing communication, pre-attentive factors in eye movements, psycholinguistics, advertising semiotics, psychographics, and cognitive maps and matrices for purchase behavior. Oh, and Elle McPherson.
John started in “sales” when he was 10 (“I stuffed my pockets full of candies from my parents retail store, sold to schoolkids who weren’t allowed to leave the school property … until the principal asked me to stop … didn’t have the smarts to suggest a joint venture back then”) and worked as a self-employed entrepreneur. (John blames mercury fillings for poor career choices). After leaving law school (my lips got sore from all that reading), he worked in and with Toronto-area advertising and PR agencies as a copywriter, illustrator, designer, and art director.
John started his own visual communications agency in 1985 (mercury fillings again!), through the past 23 years, has had the good fortune to work with a wide range of clients from small enterprises to multinational firms. Many clients have stayed with John since the beginning and now feel like part of our family. Can’t get rid of them.
Active as writer, poet, video producer, editor, web designer, graphic designer, illustrator, salesman, inventor, industrial designer, builder, choir director and bass-baritone singer, musician (flute, bass, keyboards), and cartoonist. Father of four kids, 2 dogs Labradoodle and German Shepherd, and three cats. Stephanie’s (daughter #2) comment: “Dad, you’re such a geek”, he wears like badge of honour.
John lives on a 36-acre country property in the beautiful Quinte West (the new wine region), Ontario, Canada with Rose-Anne. We’re planning to use the property for horse therapy for disabled / special-needs kids, animal (dog) rescue place, plus use it to grow herbs, vegetables, hemp (no, not that kind), and other stuff that can help us become as independent of the grocery chains as possible. Dunno yet. Gotta talk to the government people what they allow.
“You can’t beat the country lifestyle! You’d be sitting at the family campfire and 20 seconds later you’re skyping a client in Texas or Brazil — distances don’t matter anymore. And when you need a break from the world, take the tractor into the bush to hog some new trails. Or chop wood, carry water, and feel enlightened again.”
